Plaka

plaka

Known as the ‘Neighbourhood of the Gods’ - Plaka has been built on and developed around the ancient Athens’ residential district the ruins of the Ancient Agora. It’s one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Athens, based right below the Acropolis of Athens.

It has many winding streets with shops, tavernas and bars galore such as the famous Brettos, including the unique area of Anafiotika.

The best way to explore Plaka is to not follow a map, but to get lost and wander.
