Freycinet National Park
Home to Tasmania's most famous beach
Claiming Tasmania’s most celebrated sweep of coastline – Wineglass Bay – Freycinet National Park wows with its white-sand beaches, pink granite mountain peaks and rich wildlife.
From the town of Coles Bay at the edge of park, Pennicott Wilderness Journeys operates four-and-a-half hour boat tours to Wineglass Bay.
For something more active, hit any one of the outstanding hiking trails, among them the popular, moderately strenuous Wineglass Bay Lookout Circuit (2.6km) and the more ambitious, multi-day Freycinet Peninsula Circuit (27km). On your explorations, look out for honeyeaters, black cockatoos, white-bellied sea eagles, echidnas, pademelons and Bennett’s wallabies, all of which call the park home.
