WA Museum Boola Bardip
Perth's showpiece museum
In the local Noongar language, Boola Bardip means ‘Many Stories’ and this impressive, $400 million museum in Perth does just that, recounting the history, cultures and stories of Western Australia.
State-of-the-art, multimedia galleries shed light on everything from natural history to Aboriginal traditions and the state’s modern, multicultural makeup. Temporary exhibitions include international headliners from institutions like the British Museum.
The museum complex itself is a fetching mix of heritage and contemporary architecture. The central courtyard houses the Old Perth Gaol, constructed in 1855 to house convicts.
