Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA)
Adelaide's finest collection
South Australia’s preeminent art museum claims over 45,000 rotating Australian and international works, from paintings, prints and photography, to sculpture, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and more. These include the brushstrokes of Australian luminaries Margaret Preston, Hans Heysen and Jeffrey Smart, those of European masters Renoir and Pissarro, and a series of bronzes by Rodin.
AGSA’s cachet of Aboriginal art is a particular forte (keep an eye out for works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye and Vincent Namatjira), as is its collection of furniture, which includes beautiful colonial and contemporary Australian pieces.
