Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park
Ancient landscapes & rock art
Famed for its beautiful colours and springtime wildflowers, Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park has a knack of awe-inspiring landscapes. Top-billing goes to Ikara (Wilpena Pound), a massive, crater-like basin flanked by the Ranges’ highest mountain, Ngarri Mudlanha (St Mary Peak), a sacred place for the local Adnyamathanha people.
The best view of Ikara is from the sky, with numerous scenic flight options departing from resort and caravan park Rawnsley Park Station. Among them is a Heli-Camping option, which sees you choppered to your panoramic camping site, overlooking Ikara.
