Public Transport in Brisbane
TransLink runs Brisbane’s efficient network of trains, buses, catamarans and ferries.
Trains conveniently connect central Brisbane to South Brisbane/South Bank, Fortitude Valley and Brisbane Airport.
Buses are handy for reaching West End, New Farm and Newstead.
CityCat catamarans offer scenic connections between Teneriffe, New Farm, central Brisbane and South Brisbane/South Bank.
Ferries CityHopper Ferries are free but slow, connecting central Brisbane to South Bank, Kangaroo Point and New Farm. Cross River Ferries connect Kangaroo Point to central Brisbane, Norman Park to New Farm Park, and Teneriffe to Bulimba.
Tickets
Touch-on, touch-off Go Cards are valid on all Translink services, including Airtrain services to/from the airport. The cards (refundable deposit $10/5 for adult/child) can be purchased and topped-up at transit-station fare machines, as well as at many convenience stores and newsagents. Go Cards can also be topped up on CityCat catamarans (cash only).
Three and five-day Go SeeQ cards (adult $79/129) offer unlimited travel on all TransLink services. These special visitor cards can be purchased at Brisbane Airport.
All Go Cards are also valid on public transport on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
