Glacier Sky Walk
The Sunwapta Valley for those without vertigo!
The Glacier Sky Walk is a horseshoe-shaped, glass-floored walkway that elevates visitors 280 meters above the mountain goats and crashing waterfalls of the Sunwapta Valley.
It opened in May 2014 to quickly become a key stopping point on the Icefields Parkway.
The short walk to and from the architectural wonder is dotted with info boards that offer a lesson in the local glaciology, geology and ecosystem of the Columbia Icefield area.
The walkway lies a five-minute scenic free shuttle-bus transfer from The Icefield Centre, where there’s plenty of parking.
