Carlisle Bay

Carlilse Bay, Barbados, with Bridgetown to the left and the pier of Barbados Yacht Club visible through the trees to the right

Bang in the heart of Bridgetown, lies the natural harbour of Carlisle Bay. This 2km-long arc of white powdery sand shelves into sheltered waters that are perfect for swimming. Several sunken wrecks lie on the sandy seabed too, making the bay a top site for snorkelling and diving.

Locals and visitors alike are drawn to Pebbles Beach and Brownes Beach in particular, and the bay is dotted with casual bars, sun-loungers and umbrellas. There are also two yacht clubs as well as several dive shops and water sports facilities.
