Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales
Literary museum for all the family
One of Croatia’s outstanding family attractions, Ivana’s House of Fairytales (Ivanina kuća bajke) celebrates the work of Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić (1874-1938), the Ogulin born author of children’s classic Tales of Long Ago (Priče iz davnine). Mixing traditional folkloric themes with Brlić-Mažuranić’s own stories, it is a masterpiece of the imagination. Much more than a literary museum, however, the display aims to open up the whole world of storytelling, with audio-visual content for the kids and some illuminating reflections on the nature of fantasy narratives for the grown-ups.
With audio storytelling, animated films and the pleasure of being interrogated by a cave-dwelling monster, it all adds up to a hugely entertaining experience.
The museum is located in a single-storey building inside the courtyard of Ogulin’s castle
Open: Tuesday - Sunday 09:00 - 17:00
