Granite Way
Cycling with Dartmoor views (11 miles)
The glorious Granite Way is a cycling and walking route along a disused train track that skirts the northwest edge of Dartmoor National Park.
Stretching for 11 miles between Okehampton and Lydford, the trail is largely car-free and takes in spectacular views of wild, open moors. A highlight is the sweeping view from Meldon Viaduct, a 90ft bridge above the Meldon Dam.
The trail forms part of the National Cycle Network route 27 – dubbed the Devon Coast to Coast. The Granite Way is also open to horse riders. Detours cut off in places, providing rugged routes for mountain bikes.
