Exeter Cathedral
An exquisite architectural masterpiece
Surrounded by impressive medieval, Tudor and Georgian buildings, Exeter Cathedral is a serene focal point for the city.
Built in stages from the 12th century, the cathedral is a fine example of Gothic architecture and has an imaginative range of guided tours.
Exterior
Towering over the entrance, is the intricate West Front Image Screen. Three rows of statues sit in their own niches surrounded by fine carvings, making them England’s largest collection of 14th century sculpture. The stone came from Beer Quarry Caves on the east Devon coast.
