Plymouth Gin Distillery

Sniff botanicals & sample gins

Plymouth 2016

The Plymouth Gin Distillery is England’s oldest working gin distillery – they’ve been making the spirit here since 1793. Parts of the building date back to the 1400s and it’s thought some of the Pilgrim Fathers slept here before embarking on the Mayflower.

Tours outline the history of the building and brand and lead past the distillation equipment and stills. They include a guided tasting before ending in a free G&T under the hull-shaped Medieval timber roof of the Refectory Bar.

On the 40-minute Classic Tour (£11 per person) you get to sip three creations. The Gin Connoisseur’s Tour (£31) lasts 90 minutes and has a seven-sample tasting. While on the 2.5 hour Master Distillers Tour (£48) you get to choose the botanicals and distil your own bottle to take away.
