Greenway
Agatha Christie's enchanting holiday home
Greenway offers an intriguing insight into the life of one of Britain’s best-loved crime writers – Agatha Christie. The prolific novelist used the riverside house as a holiday home, calling it “the loveliest place in the world”.
Arriving at Greenway is half the fun – you take a boat trip from Dartmouth, 3 miles away down the picturesque River Dart.
Inside
Although Greenway house is Georgian, the interiors are from the 1950s and are preserved much as Agatha and family left them. The cosy Drawing Room houses her Steinway piano, her dresses hang in the bedroom and the library – as well as being crowded with her works – provides an insight into the books the novelist liked to read.
