Antony

Enchanting country house & gardens

Antony House

Grand, silver-grey Antony is a fine example of a house built during Queen Anne’s reign. It’s packed with historic paintings and has gardens so delightful they’ve appeared in films.

The Grounds

Antony’s 25-acre landscaped gardens feature hedges and shrubs that have been sculpted into fabulous shapes – you may recognise some sections from Tim Burton's 2010 film, Alice in Wonderland.

Antony - Torpoint

Look out for the Tudor-style knot garden, the impressive yew hedge, the cone hedge with a carved-out seating area, and a series of contemporary sculptures.

Antony - National Trust House in Cornwall

Inside

The Carew Pole family has owned Antony for some 600 years and still live here – despite the grandeur, the house has a lived-in feel. Antique furniture, china and textiles abound and the portraits lining the wood-panelled walls include those by Sir Joshua Reynolds.
