Camel Trail
Cycle a creek-side former railway line (5–18 miles)
Trains used to run along this route – now it’s a largely flat, traffic–free trail that that snakes inland beside the beautiful Camel Estuary.
The full trail runs for 18 miles (1.5–2 hours) from Padstow, via Bodmin to Wenfordbridge. But many people just cover the 5.5–mile (30 minutes) family-friendly stretch between Padstow and Wadebridge.
Sections
• Padstow to Wadebridge (5.5 miles–30 min) The most popular section with open views of creeks and sandbanks
• Wadebridge to Bodmin (5.75 miles –30 min) Heads through the wooded, wildlife–rich Camel Valley
• Bodmin–Wenfordbridge (6.25 miles–30 min) Least cycled part of the trail with woods and fishing pools
Bike Hire
Expect a daily charge of around £14–20 for adults; £8 for children.
