Salcombe Circular Walk
Wild cliffs & a swimming cove (6.6 miles)
The chic yachting port of Salcombe is about more than boats. It’s also the start point for some spectacular hikes, such as this 6.6-mile circular coastal walk plotted by the South West Coast Path Association.
The route starts at North Sands car park, a 1 mile stroll from the centre of Salcombe. Soon it cuts inland, through woods, past farms and across fields to Soar Mill Cove, where a swim may appeal.
You then follow the coast path east, sweeping along cliffs. After rugged Bolt Head you encounter fantastical rock formations at Starehole Bay and cracking views of Salcombe as you head back via South Sands and Bo’s Beach Cafe to the start.
