Moulin-de-la-Rouzique
Specialised paper making on the Dordogne.
There was a Mill at Couze back in the 15th Century and at the peak of paper making in the Dordogne there were fifteen working mills here. They produced the famous Dutch paper watermarked with Amsterdam’s coat of arms.
Only three mills remain and and just two, the Moulin de la Rouzique dating from the 16th Century and the Moulin de Larroque, still produce the filigreed paper. Both are open to the public.
The Moulin de Rouzique has an excellent collection of watermarked paper and there are paper making demonstrations.
