Terrason-Levilledieu
Small town on the banks of the Vézère
Terrasson-Lavilledieu on the banks of the Vézère in the Black Périgord, is an old town built in tiers above the right bank of the river and dominated by a large 15th Century church.
The most impressive feature of Terrasson, however, is the 12th Century cutwater bridge across the Vézère which is the only one of its kind. Built by Benedictine monks, it has both Romanesque and Gothic arches having been restored many times.
Also at Terrasson are the unusual Gardens of the Imagination which overlook the old town. This contemporary garden invokes a realm of fantasy and is the kind of place you either love or hate!
