Walberswick
Modest village with beach
Walberswick is a small, pretty village complete with village green. There are a few shops and cafes but not many. Many families enjoy trying to catch crabs from the village bridges and creek before returning them to the water.
There is a small foot ferry that crosses the River Blyth during the high season giving access to Southwold.
A long village beach, just across the river from Southwold in Suffolk. The sandy and pebble beach is surrounded by dunes, becoming muddier towards the estuary facing Southwold.
The area is designated as an Area of Outstanding Beauty and is great for families who want a quieter, more traditional beach without amusements, extensive shops and other resort facilities.
There is one large carpark close to the beach, which can get quickly filled up during the high season. It is reached via the A12 and B1387 www.thesuffolkcoast.co.uk
