Frinton on Sea
Small 1920s/30s-era costal resort
Frinton on Sea is often described as being ‘quintessentially English.’ Uncommercialised and genteel, with much of the ambiance of beach resorts from the 1920’s/30’s still remaining. During those inter-war years, Frinton attracted royalty and Winston Churchill. The gently shelving sandy beach is perfect for paddling and children’s games. The pastel coloured Victorian style beach huts are quite eyecatching.
Much of the beach is edged by cliffs, with a long expanse of green lawns between the beach and the road. Walking along the green lawns between Frinton and Walton the Naze some two miles away is a popular coastal stroll. Dogs are banned from sections of the beach between May and September.
Tree lined avenues and Art Deco buildings characterise this seaside town.
Many of the shops have been described as being East Anglia’s Bond Street.
Nearby attractions include Flatford Mill & Constable country as well as Holland Haven Country Park, a local nature reserve.
