Clacton-on-Sea

Essex’s largest seaside resort

Bold, boistrous, lively, Clacton-on-Sea is a mecca for visitors wanting fun, sea and sand. The largest seaside resort in Essex, the pier alone is over 300ft wide with countless amusements including a helter skelter.

A gently shelving beach, with lots of golden sand, it is popular with families. The West Beach has a child safety wristband scheme.

Lots of amusement arcades as well as the Pavilion Fun Park containing various attractions including adventure golf, high rope course, rollercoaster, dodgems and a shooting range.

An open top bus takes visitors all the way from Clacton Pier, along the seafront to Holland-on-Sea and back again.

There are numerous seafront walks and cycle routes including an 8 mile ride linking to a Martello Tower.

There arre several holiday parks in the arrea such as Valley Farm and Weeley Bridge, as well as a wide range of hotels and bed & breakfast establishments. Camping and glamping sites are available.
