Kentwell Hall
Step into the past
Kentwell Hall and grounds are unusual. A Tudor manor house, it is surrounded by a moat, extensive gardens and parkland totalling around 30 acres.
Living history was pioneered here, and groups of re-enactors frequently take over the estate turning it back to Tudor times providing the opportunity to talk to Tudor farmers and villagers, gardeners kitchen staff, ladies & gentlemen and possibly try out your skills with the militia. Check out their website for details of the various re-enactment days.
At other time, the house and grounds provide an opportunity to quietly explore the various buildings and stroll round the gardens.
Cafe and small shop on site.
Located 10 miles south of Bury St Edmunds on the B1064 to Long Melford.
Entry charge.
Booking in advance recommended for the grand re-enactments.
