Holyrood & Southside
Despite being neighbours Holyrood and Southside are very different. Holyrood is defined by the grand Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Scottish Parliament, while Southside is Edinburgh's student neighborhood – a place of cafes, cheap eateries and second-hand shops.
But the two do have in common that they inhabit the fringes of the Old Town and are identifiable by their green spaces as much as by their buildings.
Holyrood Park, contains Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh's biggest and wildest hill; while the Meadows provide the city with its premier public space for childrens playgrounds, various sports and summer barbecues.
