Cycling

The flat terrain and quiet country roads of rural Estonia are ideally suited to exploring by bike. The islands are particularly cycle-friendly, with a variety of sights and landscapes located within day-trip riding distance of each other. Among the best are Hiiumaa, Saaremaa, Kihnu, Vormsi

Marked cycling routes and signage for cyclists are also being developed at a fast rate, especially on the islands, which are particularly busy with cyclists in spring and summer.

The provision of cycling lanes in urban areas and beside roads is by no means universal, but is on the increase.

Bike rental is easy to track down in national parks, established holiday areas and on the islands.
