If you haven’t been before it’s a good idea to do a little research about France and/or the region or regions you intend to visit. You’ll find quite a lot here and also some suggestions for further reading and films to watch.

As far as guide books are concerned Michelin Green Guides are available for all French Regions and in the author’s opinion, are the best.
