Vendéen Beaches
Côte de Lumière
The Côte de Lumière is about 134km/84m long from the Île-de-Noirmoutier in the north to La Faute-sur-Mer in the south there is an almost continuous stretch of around 30 beaches which are safe, sandy and child friendly because they slope gradually into the sea.
There are several great resorts too including St-Jean-de-Monts; Les-Sables-d’Olonne and St-Giles-Croix-de-Vie as well as some interesting things to see inland. (see Practical Information below)
It’s difficult to pick the best Vendéen beaches but the Plage des Demoiselles at St Jean de Monts must be up there. This magnificent stretch of fine sand has 7 lifeguard stations and never feels crowded. Check out the Beaches website in Practical Information below.
