The Paris Metro is the second busiest in Europe after Moscow carrying 4 million passengers daily. Designed by the engineer Fulgence Bienvenue and the architect Hector Guimard.
It opened in in 1900 for the World’s Fair and is constantly expanding and adding new lines such as the Grand Paris Express connecting suburbs and airports by 2030.
