Madame Tussauds Hong Kong
Who wouldn't want to stand next to Jackie Chan?
It’s obviously touristy, but if you’ve never been to one, the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong on The Peak might as well be the one. Madame Tussauds has been in the entertainment business for more than 200 years (Madame Tussaud perfected her craft making death masks of executed aristocrats during the French Revolution) and does its job well reproducing likenesses of well-known celebrities, world leaders, historical figures, and heroes.
In addition to the usual big names–Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Depp, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and former President Barack Obama–there are also Chinese heroes like Jet Li, Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Connie Chan, Jay Chou and basketball star Yao Ming. Other highlights include a gallery of Korean celebrities and a polka-dotted room devoted to Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Cameras are allowed, so you can take your photo with all 100-some of them.
