Rochester
Historic county seat
The heart of Fulton County, is Rochester, the Round Barn Capitol of the Midwest and a charming Victorian era county seat with a downtown that includes the turreted and gabled 1895 Fulton County Court House on an old fashioned courthouse square typical of a small Hoosier town.
Stores, including antique shops, a cinema which first opened in 1924 and shows first run movies and restaurants, surround the square.
For a little edible history, stop at the Streamliner Restaurant, a local favorite since 1939. On the menu is that Hoosier specialty is a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich.
While in Rochester, stop by the Wideman-Gerig round barn now used as a golf pro shop in the city park and take time to play nine at the Rochester City Golf Course.
Stop in at Schnabeltier, a winery, brewery and cheesery.
