Sheridan
Just Another Whistle Stop
Visit the Sheridan Historical Society Museum; Boxley Cabin Restoration for pioneer collections and memorabilia provide a look back to early settlement days and genealogy archive tracks more than 500 area families.
The restoration of the Boxley cabin, which dates back to 1828, is part of the fascination of this museum. Boxley was an outspoken proponent of emancipation and had to saw his way out of jail because men who supported the same cause were being hung. And so he left Virginia and moved here followed by like minded people.
While in Sheridan, eat at Stuart's Steak House, often called "The best little steakhouse in Indiana."
And remember Sheridan is a stop on the Indiana Transportation Museum's vintage railroad line.
