Tōkyō In-A-Day

For those short on time

Tōkyō deserves more than a day of your time, but if that’s all you’ve got, there are definitely places in the capital that you shouldn’t miss. This is an action-packed itinerary, so don’t dawdle too much!

Morning

Wait until at least 9am before hopping on the JR Yamanote loop line for a one-hour trip around Tōkyō - any earlier than that and you’re likely to be swamped by commuters!

Get off at Ueno and take a taxi for a short ride to Tōkyō Skytree for incredible views out over the city from its observation decks. Back at ground level, it’s only a 20-minute walk to Asakusa and its amazing Sensō-ji Temple.

Lunch & afternoon

Depending on how you’re going for time, either find a place for lunch in Asakusa or wait until you get to Shibuya - Tōkyō Metro’s Ginza Line runs direct from Asakusa to Shibuya in 35 minutes.
