Bars & Cafés

Breakfast cafe in Madrid

Bars and cafés are at the centre of the daily routine for every madrileño and it's said that there are more bars per head of population than in the rest of Europe or even the world.

Bodegas la Ardosa, Madrid

Certainly, there are plenty to choose from, whether it be the local bar for a pep-up from an early morning coffee or one the more stylish historic cafés dotted around the centre for a more leisurely early evening drink. At night many metamorphose into mini night clubs or cocktail bars.

If you'd rather accompany drinks with a bite to eat then head for one of the multitude of Tapas Bars scattered throughout the city.
