Tapas Bars
Madrid is rightly renowned for tapas and one of the great things about the city is that within a few streets you can sample specialities from every corner of Spain.
Whether you are looking for fried fish from Andalucia, morcilla (blood sausage) from Leon, pulpo (octopus) from Galicia, jamón from Extremadura or the hometown dishes of patatas bravas, orejas (pig's ears) and callos (tripe), the Spanish capital will always have something to offer.
One of the most enjoyable activities of all is to bar-hop, having a drink, sampling the speciality dish and chatting with the locals.
Most of the bite-size tapas dishes will cost just a few euros and are sometimes free with a drink while most of the larger raciones (which are suitable for sharing) range in price from €8-15.
