Showcase for the art collections of the Spanish royals

Fachada oeste de la Catedral de la Almudena, Madrid, España. Vista desde el Puente de Segovia.

State-of-the-art gallery which has been built to showcase the stunning royal collections of the Habsburg and Bourbon dynasties. Highlights include work by El Greco, Goya and Titian, a beautiful display of tapestries and an array of eye-catching objets d’art acquired by the Spanish royals.

One of an ensemble of four paintings with personifications of the times of day intended as supraportas for the boudoir of Maria Luisa of Parma, Princess of Asturia.

Video introductions to each section provide visitors with the historical context and the vast granite building is a sight in itself.
