Kissariat el Guessabine
Shrine to the king - قصارية القصابين
Just off the very northeastern end of the Jemaa el Fna, the Kissariat el Guessabine is a little group of clothes shops. It's mostly of interest for the shrine to the king and the royal family which one of the shopkeepers has created in the entrance.
A little bit kitsch and sugary it may be, but the shrine proudly declares, "I love my country, my king," and there's no denying it's a labour of love, made from photos, press cuttings, sea shells (why not?) and all sorts of other bits and pieces. A sign invites tourists to take photos.
The Kissariat el Guessabine is at the very end of the northeastern btanch of the Jemaa el Fna, next to the Café Kessabine, at the beginning of Derb Dabbachi.
