Snack Toubkal

24hr budget eating on the Jemaa (b,l,d; $)

Snack Toubkal

Day or night, the Café Toubkal is a handy food stop on the Jemaa el Fna, with low prices and good breakfasts.

The Toubkal offers three set breakfasts, all 23dh, one of which features what they call a crêpe or pancake, although in fact they mean a tasty chewy griddle-bread called a msimmen.

For lunch or supper the Toubkal offers set menus for just 50–55dh, and while you can certainly get better food elsewhere, you'll be hard put to find a meal that's cheaper.

Snack Toubkal

In principle the Toubkal is open 24/7, although there'll be a limit as to what they can serve you in the wee hours. Still, they're good for tea or coffee round the clock, and if you need breakfast before an early bus or train departure, or get a sudden attack of the munchies when everything else is closed, it's a very handy place indeed. They even have a panoramic terrace, although their view over the Jemaa is limited.
