Eating on the Jemaa el Fna

Jemaa foodstall

As well as the foodstalls in the middle of the Jemaa el Fna, there are also restaurants and cafés all around it, some of which have good views over the square, if you can get the right seat.

Directly behind the foodstalls, on the north side of the square, you have the Café Argana.

In the southeast corner of the square, there's Snack Toubkal and Taj’in Darna. For great views (if not such great food), there's the Grand Balcon du Café Glacier.

In the square's northeastern corner you have Café Kessabine. Close by, and just off the Jemaa, Mechoui Alley is the cheapest and most authentic place to try tanjia and mechoui (check the review to see what those are).
