Circuit G. Villeneuve & Canadian Grand Prix
Global F1 talent & after-party (early-Jun)
Montreal's annual slot at the top level of the global motor-racing calendar, the Canadian Grand Prix, signals the start of summer for many Montrealers.
The city celebrates the event with gusto: hotels and restaurants decorate themselves with chequered flags and the flood of visitors mean you should try and book anything well in advance for this weekend.
Locations
The race takes place in Parc Jean Drapeau on Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, which is named for the Quebec-born Formula 1 driver who died racing in 1982.
Weekend grandstand admission range from about $300 to $700, with less expensive tickets available for qualifying and practice days.
The centre of the aprés party is Crescent Street.
