Kazu
Japanese home-cooking (l,d; $)
The line on the street announces the presence of Kazu much more than its simple exterior does. And certainly it's as popular, ramshackle and bustling as it is small.
But, even if you have to wait, it's all worth it for the home-cooked versions of everyday Japanese food.
Various home-made tofu concoctions are a particular strong-point, as are the seafood options and grilled meats.
Kazu is also part of a second little Chinatown in central Montreal; with many other Asian food options gathered along the street.
