Buses & Trams

Extensive & cheap; frequent during the day

Tram, Nice

Nice and the Côte d’Azur has an extensive, cheap and efficient bus service although most routes close down in the evening. Check the timetables at the bus stops if you need to return after 6.30pm. I’ve heard it said, only half jokingly, that the service is run for the convenience of its drivers rather than its passengers!

The excellent Ligne d’Azur Tramway, which until recently served only the City Centre (Line 1) has been extended and the very convenient new Line 2 (Ouest-Est) runs from Nice-Port Lympia to Nice-Côte-d'Azur Airport. Line 3, which will run from Nice-St.Augustin (near the Airport) to Saint Isidore, is currently under construction and will be in operation from late 2019

There are regular trains operating along the coast in either direction and even up into the mountains.
