Vieux Nice (Old Town)
Vieux Nice is the old quarter of Nice at the extreme eastern end of the Promenade des Anglais. It is contained between the rue des Ponchettes, Boulevard Jean Jaures and Château Hill.
Most visits start at the Cours Saleya, home of the famous flower and vegetable market. Not too far away you will find the heart of Old Nice around place Rossetti with its restaurants and the magnificent Baroque churches of Cathédrale Ste-Réparate and Gésu.
Palais Lascaris, Genoese in style, has an interesting museum (free of charge). Towards the top of the old town place St-François and place Garibaldi make interesting locations to linger for refreshment!
There are plenty of bars and restaurants here to cater for your needs. Oh, and don’t forget to treat yourself to some Socca!
