Summer: June, July & Aug

July and August is High Season on the coast and it can also be busy in the mountains above Nice as well as the Pre-Alpes, the Provençal Alpes not to mention other popular destinations such as Avignon, Les Baux de Provence, St-Paul-de-Vence and the Luberon.

During the Summer months it can be very hot (above 30 C. - less in June) so make sure you are able to cover up if you are going to be out in the strong sun. Take a high factor sun lotion with you and if you are off to the Camargue some insect/mosquito repellent!

If you intend to go into the mountains even during the Summer months you will need to ensure you have suitable clothing as it can be quite cool especially in the evenings.
