Corrieshalloch Gorge

Corrieshalloch Gorge

The mile-long gorge Corrieshalloch Gorge is best known for its thundering Falls of Measach and a 1867 suspension bridge.

The design of John Fowler (of Forth Rail Bridge fame), the swaying suspension bridge spans a giddy height above this lush chasm. A short path beyond then leads to a further viewing platform that’s often dampened by misty sprays from the thundering falls below.

A couple of further trails around this nature reserve are good for short walks and bird watching.
