Palace Entrance

Falkland, the former home of Mary Queen of Scots was also the country residence for a series of Stuart kings.

Falkland Palace.

Their royal bedchambers survive, as do a series of impressive 17th-century tapestries.

More unique and intriguing, however, is the presence of the oldest (1539) real tennis court still in use.

The world's oldest tennis court! (real tennis/royal tennis) - Falkland Palace and Garden, Falkland, Fife, Scotland

Real tennis is a forerunner of the modern game, but now more similar to raquetball or squash.
