Outlander Scotland

Outlander's Scotland

If ever a gift was unintentionally hand-crafted for the Scottish tourism industry it is the Outlander TV series.

This historical romance, set in both mid-20th and 18th-century Scotland, is based on books by Diana Gabaldon and runs over five seasons (a sixth is being developed).

The popularity of the series has boosted Scotland's visitor numbers to such an extent, that it's even been dubbed the Outlander Effect.

Locations & Itinerary

Visit Scotland, the national tourist office, have stepped up to the challenge by producing a downloadable map of film locations and have even gone one step further by designing a 12 Day Outlander Itinerary.
