Nevis Range Mountain Resort
Great views & gravity sports
The Nevis Range resort spreads over the northern side of Aonach Mòr (1221m/4006ft), some 6 miles from Fort William and centres on a gondola that leads to downhill skiing in winter and hiking and mountain biking in summer.
Also at the gondola's summit is a restaurant and visitor centre, while other activities detailed on the resort website (but not here) are winter climbing; mountain ceilidh nights (four dates in summer) and paragliding.
Skiing
Between December and May 12 ski lifts operate here. As always in Scotland, when exact opening times are very much snow dependant, but as the country's highest area, the chances at Nevis are good, and the season tends to last longer too. In good snow 24 runs are opened; there's a bit of everything, but half are graded blue/intermediate.
