The Scottish Crannog Centre

Iron Age-style waterfront property

Kenmore

A crannog is an Iron Age dwelling-cum-fortification that was built as an island on Scottish lochs around 2,500 years ago.

Day 169 - Cup Of Fire

Loch Tay had several, as dives have revealed, and the Scottish Crannog Centre pieced together the evidence to provide a fascinating reconstruction of what once was.

Unfortunately a fire destroyed the Crannog itself in 2021. Rebuilding’s now under-way, and tours of this offered; otherwise the main attraction is a museum of artefacts and Iron Age craft demonstrations.
