Luxury accommodation

The sky's the limit

Middlethorpe Hall

Apart from several chain establishments, hotels in York fall into two main categories.

High-end options

These include a number of local hotels dotted around the town, usually a little way from the centre.

Out of the centre, there are a number on the approach roads from the Knavesmire, for instance, such as The Mount Royale.

Nearer to the city centre are The Churchill or The Grange (Both on Bootham, just beyond the city walls.)

In the centre, options include The Dean Court Hotel in the shadow of the Minster. Right next to the station is the large, former station hotel, The Principal

Prices: Reckon on spending £140 per night upwards at these hotels.

Luxury Hotels

The newest addition to the luxury hotel scene is the 5 star Grand Hotel, near to the station.

Though out of town, near the Archbishop's Palace in Bishopthorpe, mention must be made of Middlethorpe Hall This is a grand country house hotel.

Prices: Reckon on spending from £200 per night and up at these hotels.
