Just round the corner from Bootham Bar on Gillygate, this small, stylish, welcoming bistro offers a changing, selection of of courses, some an interesting modern take on familiar dishes, and using mainly locally sourced fresh ingredients.
The interior of the restaurant is light and modern, reflecting its thoughtful approach to a pleasant but informal dining experience.
The bistro is open throughout the day, and offers a daily lunch menu. On Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes there is a selection of around half a dozen main courses, always including a vegetarian and a fish dish of the day. At weekends they now serve a brunch. The full menu can be viewed online on their website.
TIP The traffic on Gillygate can be very busy. The conservatory in the garden to the rear, in the shadow of the city walls, provides a quieter experience, away from the bustling city. Or in summer there are also garden tables in the shadow of the city walls.
