Visit York promotes York tourism. It has information about venues, can book hotels and B&Bs and has tickets for events.
They also have free bus timetables, and handy maps, including the official York Cycle Map.

A few books (such as the guide to the Snickelway walks) and selected York and Yorkshire souvenirs are also on sale in their small shop.
Visit York Pass
The office also sells the official York Pass, a good way to cut down entrance costs if you visit several places during your visit. It's valid for one to three days and includes the main attractions (eg Jorvik, Castle museum, minster, sightseeing bus). It costs from £60 (children £35). The pass also includes attractions beyond the city.
